CASE STUDY:
Tweed Valley Adventist College, Murwillumbah NSW
The Tweed Valley Adventist College is an independent Seventh-day Adventist co-educational primary and secondary day school, located in Murwillumbah, a town on the Tweed Coast below Mt Warning in New South Wales, Australia.
The College sought a diary that would enable students to develop a strong work ethic, take pride in their work, be able to communicate at all levels, act with integrity and know God.
We were able to reflect this in their bespoke diary design in several ways:
Firstly, we designed their school pages with a clean and clear purpose in mind. Not only were the school pages reflective of the school branding, but the school’s values were also emphasised and set alongside wellbeing references from the bible. This solidified a united message from the school to its student community.

Each week then emphasised a Verse of the Week. In this way, we showcased God's character and reminded students of his holy, unchanging, faithful, gracious and loving character no matter the challenges he too faced. This provided ongoing mentorship and inspiration throughout the year.
We then incorporated into the weekly homework section a three-step focus:

Plan, Reflect and Appreciate.
This enabled the students to state their goals for the week and acknowledge their efforts. Students then had space to reflect on what they were grateful for and how they chose to express gratitude. Expressing gratitude encouraged communication - an important aim for the college.

Often people underestimate the power of a diary. It is a resource used multiple times a day, fifty-two weeks a year. The compounded effect of this positive time management tool is that it has the opportunity to make over fifteen-hundred impressions annually. This positive imprint equips students for life spiritually and mentally.
Nurture For Today, Learning for Tomorrow, Character for Eternity.
